Where to Invade Next is a nonfiction documentary, directed and produced by Michael Moore, who plays a role of invader. In his documentary he travels nine different countries of the world, which includes Italy, France, Finland, Slovenia, Germany, Portugal, Norway, Tunisia and Iceland. Where to invade Next premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and had its American premiere at the 2015 New York Film Festival on October 2, 2015. Topic # 1: Cost less education system Research Question: Should America provide free higher education system to its citizens?Argument: America should provide free college and universities education because education is a right of every individual, and education should be seen as a good not just for the individual but as a good for the whole country. A country with more educated citizens, leads to more productive nation of the world. The more the government helps the students, more the students will try to give back to the community. Topic # 2: Healthy School meals Research Question: Should America improve the meals for students in school? Argument: America should know what they are serving in school lunches because they are affecting the kids eating habits and life expectancy from the food they eat. The youth of today will grow tomorrow and have bad health conditions. Where will this lead towards us to? Topic # 3: Paid leaves Research question: Should America need to provide paid Holiday? Argument: America provide paid holidays with job guarantee to all employees no matter either they are working for small or large company. These holidays are important for each and every employee because each health matters, after all it is even better for the company because when employees feel satisfied with their lives and they will work better in the company giving their best. Hence, increasing the profit of the company. Topic # 4: Free Health care system Research question: Should America provide free health care system? Argument: America should free health care system because they need to consider that the health of the people is directly related to the health of the country. Summary
Where to invade next is a documentary type movie written and directed by Michael Moore. Since World War II which was against the countries such as Vietnam Lebanon Iraq Afghanistan Syria and Yemen America wanted to get something new. Therefore, in this movie Michael Moore visits different countries in order to collect the good information and systems and bring them back to America. Michael Moore visits countries such as Italy, France, Finland, Tunisia, Slovenia, Germany, and Portugal. Firstly, he begins his journey from Italy where he finds out the labor rights of the workers and paid holidays from a couple born and raised in Italy. He also gets to know about the 13th salary concept in which the workers are paid more than what they really work for. As a result, Italian people have a much higher life expectancy. He also informs the couple about the paid holidays workers receive in America, they were astonished to hear that zero paid holidays are given in America. Secondly, he visits France and Finland where he finds out that the school meals provided in the schools are actually confirmed with the nutritionist for better health of the students. When he talks to the students of higher grade he finds that these students do not receive any homework, even if they do receive any homework it does not take more than 20 minutes to complete the homework. The staff members in the high school explain that students should be given enough time to be themselves, and should be taught how to live a happy life. On one occasion, he offers his cold drink do the students, but today refuse to drink it. Meanwhile, his daughter was sending him the pictures of the School Meal which she receives in America. When the Italian kids were shown the pictures of the School Meal they refused to accept that this was a food. Thirdly, he visits Slovenia a region between the Alps where the students do not have to pay any kind of fee in order to seek their higher education of college in a university. Where he meets two former American students who were happy enough to inform Michael Moore that they don't have any dept. Fourthly, he goes to Germany where he finds that the worker only for 36 hours a week, but get paid as much as they are working for 40 hours a week. In addition, they also receive a 2 hours break every day so that they can return to their home and have a well-prepared lunch in their home and return back to work. These workers in a Pencil Factory were happy enough and had only one job. Whereas in America people work 3 to 4 and still they are unsatisfied. In the end, Michael Moore visits other countries such as Portugal Norway Tunisia and Iceland very finds out that Universal Health Care is provided for free in Portugal and if in case someone violates the law by using drugs, they are not given the death penalty. In Norway, he visits a prison which he called it as most Humane prison system with the least security. In Tunisia, the woman is given enough rights and access to abortion and, the government also disagree the dressing of the woman. After all, hijab is necessary for every modest Woman. On the other hand, in Iceland Michael Moore sees the woman in power, meeting with the members of Best Party he departs from Iceland. Hence, in the end, Michael Moore deceives people by saying that these systems originally came from America. |
